Kingsland Point Park Volunteer Day, Spring 2012
April 23, 2012
Saturday, April 28, 2012
10am to 2pm
Join the Village of Sleepy Hollow Environmental Advisory Council, Sleepy Hollow Manor Association, and Philipse Manor Improvement Association for a day of work to benefit Kingsland Point Park!
— Learn about the Hudson. DEC Naturalist and compiler of the Hudson River Almanac Tom Lake will talk about Hudson River ecology and seining will be done at 10am at the beach.
— Cut invasive vines. Bring pruners and loppers (but no “swinging” tools or power tools).
— Pick up trash. A supply of gloves will be available, but bring your own if you have some.
— Weed, repair, and examine. All parts of the park.
— Letterboxing for kids. Througout the event, kids can engage in environmentally-themed orienteering.
Please walk or bike to the event if you can. If you drive, please park in one of the park’s two lots, not at the train station.
